Pheylonian Origins

Just on the outside of this sweet little hamlet of Marlbank in southeastern Ontario, lives a unique family known as the Philoxians. Way back in the times of the Original and very real myths, these ‘Lovable Strangers’ as they were called, were also known as the ‘Bearers of Good Fortune’. Back in those eras, gold was sat upon for comfort and the fortunes spoken of were not mere baubles and trinkets, nor was all gold of value made of metal. One of the first precious things that comes to mind are the golden, luminous glows of the ancient Pheylonian Beeswax Candles, which were used in those eras by everyone not only for light, they were used for heat, to cook on and most importantly,,, to keep the energies balanced in all situations concerning human life and daily interaction. The master crafters of these ion emitting, Golden Halo’d Deelites were known way back then as the Philoxians as well, and were called by this name right up until the mythical, ancient times of Greece.

Now,,, in these times of Scattered Seed and Conscious Discord, it’s wonderful to know that these Original Pheylonian Beeswax Candles are still being made by the same family, generation after generation, right here at Philoxia. As you can see, to most people, all of this seemed like a myth, yet,,, it is actually all so real. The Philoxians have shipped these little treasures to conscientious families and their like-minded friends in 42 countries since 1971. The Original 'Pheylonian Beeswax Candles' have interesting origins which really do go way back to the earliest of civilizations. The bee and its related products have been here since the bee-ginnins’ of all that we know to exist, proof of which is revered and documented in many of the ancient tablets, scrolls, hieroglyphs and Holy Texts around the world. Beeswax has been discovered in most of the ancient Pyramids and Temples, as it is well noted within these Ancient tablets and scriptures for its non-toxic, ion-producing properties, which have been proven to be very conducive to the mental, physical and spiritual balance of human beings. She arranged to get them to a river, where they traveled downstream by barge to the ocean where they boarded a larger fishing vessel, which had been privately contracted to take the frightened little pod to this new land. Sometime later, they arrived in Quebec with only 37 of the kohr seed remaining. Iilah’s Baba brought four treasures with her. She had a precious jar of her tribes Sour Dough Grain Culture, 2 amazing hand painted mandallian Dekahlohgo'd Easter Eggs and the last few inches of a wildflower Carpathian cappings beeswax candle.

When she reached this new land and settle in western Quebec, the remains of her last wild flower beeswax candle was added to the pot of New World Beeswax, to make the first batch of candles needed for their homes and places of work, play and worship. This adding of the old wax to the new is a traditional custom still done till today by the Philoxians, displaying honor and respect, at cellular levels, for all that was done by the Philoxians' forefathers to get everyone back to where we are today.

As a young child, Iilah was fortunate to have been raised in the company of his Baba, so he had the opportunity to help her in many of the tasks she fulfilled as the Wise Ol ’Medicine Woman within their New Canadian community. One of these tasks was to help make all the special wicking for the beeswax candles needed for weddings, religious holidays, family ceremony, crossing over, etc., etc. Baba was also well respected for her talents and ability to make these most amazing and intricate Deh-Kah-Loh-Go’d (The Teachings Of Old) Ukrainian Easter Eggs.

The cellular wealth within this ancient craft of candle making was imparted to Iilah from a young age and continues to be applied accordingly within their family business, all of which is now being shared onto their son Tahn Nahri. Presently, at 15 years old, Tahn has the working knowledge and ability to produce most of their products, right down to the most important part, which is the natural, handmade, plant fiber wicks, specifically designed to suit each style of candle. Tahn makes and packs these delightful digits and helps Iilah and Tawlia at retail and trade shows from Denver to Montreal and Vancouver to Florida. In Baba’s days, just making the wicks for each candle was a labour of love. Her wicks were all made of several exotic plant fibres, which she grew herself. These fibers had to be dried and processed into the appropriate strands for each of the different sizes of candles produced. After 50 years, the Philoxians still hand prepare the wick for each candle, just as Iilah's Baba did, with the exception they now import these very same plant fibers. This level of craftsmanship reflects the integrity of this amazing product, giving Pheylonian Candles a unique appearance and Golden Halo’d functional burnability.

The key ingredient of their product, of course, is the quality of beeswax purchased to make each of these candles. Iilah and Tawlia purchase nothing less than the purest cappings beeswax available from pesticide free regions of the Northern Canadian Prairies, Northern Ontario and Quebec. Cappings wax is the hair thin layer of beeswax the bees secrete to seal the freshly made honey into each comb.
